Niccolo Canepa’s Misano ride with Althea Racing marked his third team in 2015, with the Italian having taken over from Nico Terol.

Despite a retirement in Race 1, Canepa – who rode an EVO bike for Althea last year – was pleased to pick up points with his 12th place in Race 2.

“I’m pleased after this first weekend with the new bike,” he commented. “I’ve been able to be consistent in both races, despite having to stop in Race 1.

“We are setting up the bike around me and I can’t wait to get to Laguna Seca because the bike is working really well and the feeling I have with the team is the same as last year. I’m very, very confident.”

Canepa’s next stop is Laguna Seca in California, where in 2014 he finished the opening race as the second-highest placed EVO runner behind David Salom.
